On the grounds, you can enjoy the wooded parkland that surrounds the château at any time of year - for an early-morning jog, a siesta in the shade of a hundred-year-old tree, a stroll on the lawns...
In the summer months, you can dive into the heated water of our vanishing-edge pool, try out the fine gravel of our French bowls ground or improve your golf swing on our driving range !

The hotel also has a table-tennis table, a variety of indoor games and golf balls and clubs for you to get in some practice on our driving range or the two holes we have within the château grounds. For those who like to explore their surroundings, we hire bicycles for the day or half-day (€15 and €8 respectively).

Nearby, you can take a walk around the historic town of Cognac and admire its private mansions, timber-framed houses, the Porte des Ponts (or Porte Saint-Jacques) and, of course, the château where the Valois king François I was born! Board a boat for a trip along the Charente, visit the wine stores of the great Cognac houses and learn about the secrets of making the "nectar of the gods" with a visit to the "Musée du Cognac"...

Slightly further afield, don’t miss a trip through the beautiful Charente countryside with its gently winding river valley, vine-covered hillsides and characteristic villages.

Only an hour from the sea by road, Domaine du Breuil is ideally situated for exploring the beautiful beaches of the Charente-Maritime area and the oysters of Marennes, but also for visiting the islands of Ré, Aix and Oléron, La Rochelle and its old port, Rochefort and the site where a replica of the "Hermione" (the frigate in which Lafayette sailed to America) is under construction...
